Martín Pérez-Rodríguez

Martín Pérez-Rodríguez was graduated in Physics at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, where later obtained a Ph. D. in Physics, in the Department of Condensed Matter, with a dissertation about auto-associative colloids.

He published several of  his works in international specialized journals as Langmuir, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Chem. Phys. Phys. Chem., J. Phys. Chem., J. Chem. Phys., J. Org. Chem., Organometallics, Soft Matter, etc.

In addition to their scientific career, he  is interested in arts, especially in the representation of concepts and processes not available to the naked senses but accessible through mathematics, science and technological devices.

He has created soundtracks for short films (“Positivo”, directed by Noel Berbetouros), music for scientific dissemination short series (“Kaleidolabs”, for the IIM-CSIC) and exhibitions (“Neuston”, curated by José Pintado), and is also author of illustrations for scientific books (“Guía básica sobre Incertidumbre en la Medida”) in addition to logos for projects and small business.

The Micromegas

The Micromegas is a project that stems from the chance meeting between the scientist Martin Perez and the artist Martin Caeiro (eMealcuadrado group), a project in which education, research and creation are mixed. Micromegas is formed by different experiences, all dealing about the scaling. In this case, we present the beam and the underside of the leaf banana tree.

Martín Caeiro and Martín Pérez formed the experimental group "eMealcuadrado", to investigate in the shared space between arts and science and its frontiers, producing several pieces about scaling (“Celeritas”, “Micromegas”).
